South Coast Solar Selected For Community Solar Purchasing Program; The First Of Its Kind Outside California
Just last week, One Block off the Grid (1BOG), the nation’s top consumer advocacy group for residential renewable energy, and New Orleans-based South Coast Solar, Louisiana’s largest solar energy company, announced that the Metro New Orleans area will be the program’s first official city outside of California for its groundbreaking new solar community purchasing program.
The program, which will enable Louisiana homeowners to organize as a community and buy solar in bulk at a significant discount, was started in June of 2008 in San Francisco, CA, and has since been hailed as a major success and is very simple.
If you are ready to go solar right now, sign up for 1BOG before June 18th on their website www.1bog.org. A representative from South Coast Solar will call you to schedule a meeting with one of our solar energy consultants where we will visit with you at your home and provide a quote. You will then have three weeks to decide if you want to order your system, and receive the guaranteed discounted pricing that 1BOG has negotiated with our premier manufacturer, SunPower. If 1BOG reaches their goal of 30 homes in this campaign, then everyone will receive this pricing, but the only way to guarantee it is to get on board within three weeks of seeing your SCS consultant.
In addition to this special pricing, you will receive a rebate check from SunPower based on the number of people in the community who sign up. The more people who take part, the larger the rebate!
